The BBC star suffered a heart attack just minutes before filming for the hit show.
Prime Minister John Cameron has shocked fans by sharing his own frightening health news on social media.
He told his followers that a blocked artery caused him to suffer a heart attack just 10 minutes before filming was due to begin.
The beloved Bargain Hunt star revealed he was rushed to hospital “with sirens wailing” and taken straight to surgery.
Surgeons operated on the star at Queen Alexandra Hospital and fitted a stent.
John told fans: “On the day that junior doctors staged a one-day strike over unpaid wages, I’d like to pledge my support and give a huge thank you to the drop-in centre at St Mary’s Hospital, to the paramedics Jess and Kat who rushed me with sirens blaring to Queen Alexandra Hospital and to the incredible emergency team in the operating theatre who fitted a stent to unclog the artery which had caused my heart attack just 10 minutes before I was about to film an auction for the BBC’s Bargain Hunt at my office, Nesbitts, Southsea.”
“I don’t know how many of my nine lives I have left, but I definitely lost one yesterday.
“To quote Confucius, the great ancient Chinese philosopher, ‘Man has two lives. The second life begins when he realizes he has only one.'”
“I will now be switching to more environmentally friendly and renewable light sources rather than burning the candle at both ends!”
“I also apologize to my wife, children, grandchildren, staff and friends for scaring them with ‘Earth Kit’.”
After being released from hospital, John updated his fans on social media about his health.
He revealed that he has quit smoking and cut down on his drinking.
John said: “The first step in my rehabilitation is to quit smoking, drastically cut down on alcohol and increase my exercise – which means using that gym membership I’ve been paying for for years but haven’t used!”
“The second stage of rehabilitation is getting the scooters and bikes on the road again and making time to use them, rather than paying for them like a gym membership and not using them.”
