| Little Rock — US News & World ReportIn the 2024 Best Graduate Schools list, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing, College of Health Professions and College of Public Health were ranked highly among their peers nationwide.
The UAMS College of Pharmacy was ranked 31stst It is one of the nation’s top schools of pharmacy, having produced more than 5,000 graduates since calling UAMS home in 1951. The university offers multiple dual degree programs as well as residency opportunities in specialties ranging from oncology pharmacy to toxicology to solid organ transplantation, as well as one of the few nuclear pharmacy programs in the country.

Other UAMS colleges recognized in the Best Graduate School rankings include the College of Health Professions, whose occupational therapy program was ranked 79th;Number Physical therapy program ranked 74th nationallyNumber.
“Both programs are relatively new, with physical therapy graduating its first class in 2018 and occupational therapy graduating in 2022,” said Dr. Susan Long, dean of the School of Health Professions. “The reason we have been able to gain such a national reputation so quickly is due to each program’s innovative curriculum, state-of-the-art facilities, dedicated clinical leadership and above all, our dedicated faculty and staff.”
The Occupational Therapy program is a joint program between UAMS and the University of Arkansas, the first joint degree program between the two universities. The program is one of the leading programs of its kind in the state. Earlier this year, the Physical Therapy program achieved a second consecutive 100% first-time pass rate on the national exam, a rare feat that many programs fail to achieve.
Meanwhile, the Fay W. Boozman School of Public Health at UAMS rose from 90th to No. 2 in the 2024 rankings.Number Up to 88Number.

Designed for prospective students looking to further their education after completing their undergraduate degree, the Best Graduate Schools rankings evaluate programs in six academic fields based on academic data collected from schools through surveys and third-party sources. These include nursing as well as medicine, business, education, engineering and law.
The Public Health rankings are based solely on peer surveys of schools in seven fields. Other fields evaluated are public policy, health care administration, rehabilitation counseling, veterinary medicine, and computer science. The report is released annually in early summer.
