Traders Point Christian Church wants to provide a sense of community centered around whole-body health. For 20 years, we have been providing fitness classes to residents of Whitestown and Zionsville. There are eight different classes taught by volunteer instructors.
“At TPCC, we really want our church building to be used by the community and become a normal place to hang out,” said Communications Director Erica Thomas. “We have a park that is an indoor playground. We have a variety of Bible studies and group meetings. We have guest speakers. Fitness is another expansion.”
Classes are $2 per session or $13 per month for unlimited sessions.
“It was a really great sense of community for people. It’s definitely a great group of people coming together to focus on their whole selves,” Thomas said.
TPCC wants to help community members and church members achieve physical and spiritual well-being.
“We don’t want to just focus on providing for people in our community through economic, tangible or spiritual growth,” she said. “It’s about taking care of the whole person. It’s part of our development and growth.”
Childcare services are also available.
“We don’t want real-world circumstances such as finances or childcare to be a reason not to participate. We strive to keep our prices affordable so that more people can come. We feel it’s really great,” Thomas said.
Participants do not need to attend TPCC to participate in the class.
“We get a lot of people who aren’t members of the church,” Thomas said. “Those who come back again and again just enjoy being together. They look forward to the classes.”
