SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — The Southern 7 Health Department has announced the March Wellness on Wheels clinic schedule.

Free services available in the WOW van include NARCAN training, blood pressure checks, home colorectal cancer testing, medication disposal packets, condoms, and COVID-19 test kits.
Paid services also available on the van include blood lead, hemoglobin and cholesterol testing. Testing for sexually transmitted diseases such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. HIV test; pregnancy test. Tuberculosis skin test. TD/Tdap shots for adults. These include well water testing and hereditary genetic cancer testing.
Health insurance cards will be required for all paid services except for well water testing, the health department said.
You may also receive your flu shot in the WOW van, subject to availability on the day of the clinic. In that case, you will also need a health insurance card. Flu shots and all services available at the clinic are provided while supplies last.
The health department recommends contacting your local Southern 7 public health clinic for more information about obtaining a COVID-19 booster.
The WOW van is funded by a grant from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Every Wednesday, the van tours high-risk areas in seven counties in southern Illinois.
WOW Van’s schedule for March is as follows.
- March 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Golden Circle Senior Center in Elizabethtown.
- March 6th at Bob’s Food Market in Rosiclea from 1.30pm to 3pm.
- March 13th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Ulin Baptist Church.
- March 13th from 1:30pm to 3pm at the Dollar General Store in Mounds.
- March 20th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Whistlers & Wittlers Senior Center in Vienna.
- March 20 at Rusty’s Home Center in Goreville from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
- March 27 at the Golden Circle Senior Center in Golconda from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- March 27th from 1:30pm to 3pm at Pope County High School in Golconda.
