Those who have been eagerly waiting for a physical version of SaGa Emerald Beyond can rejoice in adding a copy to their collection very soon.
You may remember that the Square Enix RPG was only available digitally in North America and Europe, but a new physical edition has been released in Asia that comes fully in English. It’s true that a physical edition was released in Japan earlier this year, but it only came with the Japanese language.

The latest standalone entry in the SaGa series, SaGa Emerald Beyond brings together the best elements of the popular series to provide each player with a unique gameplay experience.
Use glimmer and combos in combat, encounter a variety of races including monsters, mechs, and vampires, and experience your own story created by your choices and actions.

- Interwoven, Distant Worlds: Travel through 17 unique worlds, guided by fate or forged by your own choices, from the Junction. Discover vastly different cultures and landscapes, from forests filled with skyscrapers and lush habitats overflowing with plants, to a world ruled by five witches and a world ruled by vampires – these are just a few examples of the distinctive settings.
- Colorful Protagonists: Six protagonists, each with a different background and a completely different goal, embark on a journey across five unique story arcs. They venture into different worlds for their own reasons. One is a human tasked with protecting the barrier that protects her city. Another is a witch trying to recover lost magic while disguised as a schoolgirl. And yet another is a vampire king trying to reclaim his crown and reclaim his throne as the rightful king of his world. Choosing the same protagonist for a second, third, or fourth playthrough will lead to entirely new events and stories, and entirely new paths and experiences.
- Your Own Story: SaGa Emerald Beyond features more branching plots than any game in the SaGa series. The story branches out richly depending on the player’s choices and actions. With each visit to the world, the story unfolds, allowing both the protagonist and the player to discover new possibilities. As the story unfolds, it becomes the player’s own story, influencing not only the path the player takes, but also the multiple potential endings that await each protagonist.
- Battles where a single choice changes everything: SaGa Emerald Beyond further refines the highly strategic timeline battles that the SaGa series has been known for for many years. Featuring series staples such as spontaneous ability acquisition through the Glimmer system, tactical ally placements called Formations, and United Attacks that allow you to link individual skills together to form devastating chain attacks, it offers the best iteration of SaGa’s turn-based battles to date. The new battle system adds more dramatic developments than ever before, allowing you to support party members, disrupt enemy actions, or strategically manipulate the order of your allies’ actions to use United Attacks. The characters you befriend, the weapons you use, your party formation, and your tactics in battle are all up to you.
