san antonio – San Antonio FC’s newest jersey partnership is with a local healthcare nonprofit.
SAFC uniforms will feature the Community First Health Plans logo next season, the team announced Thursday.
Toyota, which previously sponsored the jersey, will remain the naming rights partner in the area, according to a SAFC news release.
This is a professional sports partnership of Community First, a locally-based health insurance provider founded in 1995.
This partnership brings together two San Antonio brands around a sense of teamwork and inclusivity.
“(Soccer) is a beloved sport around the world and a great unifying agent with the power to break down barriers and build healthier communities,” said President and CEO of Community First Health Plans. Teresa Rodríguez Cepanski, CEO of the company, said:
To foster a positive environment at Toyota Field, Community First will also sponsor several spaces within the stadium aimed at inclusivity.
Healthcare providers will sponsor ADA seating areas at Toyota Field. It will also sponsor the club’s first sensory area pod for people with sensory sensitivities. Breastfeeding pods are also available for mothers to breastfeed and express milk.
The pods will be installed in the concourse area of Toyota Field. The team plans to release further information as the SAFC season begins, according to a news release.
Community First will also begin to have a significant presence in the club’s youth sports activities as a presenting partner for five youth soccer clinics and the SAFC Micro League.
A Community First mural will also be displayed on the wall between Sections 103 and 107 at Toyota Field.
SAFC’s season begins March 9th at Toyota Field against Loudon Field.
