Pete Doherty continues to battle health issues and has revealed that he has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
The Libertines singer and guitarist, 44, has been open about his long-standing struggle with alcohol and drug abuse, which has led to him being arrested multiple times.
He said this in an earlier article documentary Louis Theroux said on a program aired last year that he is a “very sick person” because of his lifestyle.
And in a new interview today, he revealed his recent diagnosis after turning to booze and cheese.
He explained to the Guardian Saturday: “I quit my main poison and health Improved.
“Then you are told that alcohol, cheese and sugar are just as bad, and that you were healthier when you were on heroin.”
