CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Live Oak Mental Health & Wellness has expanded its services to the community since opening nearly seven months ago.
Live Oak Mental Health Therapy Center – Charleston will be seeing patients at its location at 40 Calhoun Street, Suite 230 in the coming weeks. This clinic primarily serves people who struggle with anxiety and depression.
“It’s so important that these resources exist so that people can connect with them in meaningful ways, continue doing work they’re passionate about, and spend time with their families,” and have healthy family lives. ,” said Melissa Camp, director of clinical operations.
Live Oak experts explain how important it is for people struggling with mental health to have professional resources to turn to, given the toll it can have on someone.
“They’re starting to see a decline in their physical health, a decline in their ability to perform at work, and if they’re a student, they can keep their scholarship,” said Melissa Hickman, a substance abuse and recovery expert.
With our downtown location, we aim to make mental health resources more accessible to area residents in need, from working professionals to college students. Live Oak Mental Health Therapy Center – Charleston offers intensive outpatient services, group therapy, three hours a day, three days a week for six to eight weeks.
“The idea is to have this condensed, intensive treatment so that people can really develop solid coping skills without going to the hospital,” Camp said.
The therapy center comes in response to what the community has seen and heard since Live Oak opened its facility in June. It will open on February 26th.
If you or someone you know is interested in taking advantage of this resource, please contact our main Live Oak location at 843-797-4200 and express your interest in our downtown clinic.
