Prince William shared an update on Kate Middleton’s health this week, nearly three months after she announced her cancer diagnosis.

Prince William was meeting with World War II veterans in Portsmouth, England, on Wednesday to mark the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings, when one veteran asked him if Kate was “getting better.”
“Yes,” Prince William replied, adding, “She would have loved to be here today.”

Kate, who has three children with Prince William, announced in a video message in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer after undergoing abdominal surgery in January.
The type of cancer has not been disclosed. Kensington Palace said Kate began preventive chemotherapy in late February.
Kate has not made any public appearances since announcing her diagnosis, and the palace said she would only return to work once she was cleared by her medical team.
Prince William also took some time off from royal duties after Kate’s diagnosis was announced, but returned to work in mid-April, visiting a non-profit organization in Surrey, where he received a congratulatory card for Kate from a volunteer.
As the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings is being commemorated, Prince William has been representing his father, King Charles III, who was also diagnosed with cancer this year.

On Thursday, in Prince Charles’ absence, Prince William attended an international commemoration ceremony at Omaha Beach with world leaders.
A royal source told ABC News that Prince Charles did not attend the ceremony for health reasons.

“We must prioritise and safeguard His Majesty’s continuing recovery,” the official said. “With that in mind, each event and each day must be carefully timed. We have been advised that, given His Majesty’s other commitments for the day, an international event planned for later in the afternoon may be overkill at this stage.”
When the monarch returned to royal duties in late April, the palace reported that Prince Charles was still undergoing treatment but had been approved to remove himself from some royal duties.
The palace has not disclosed what type of cancer Prince Charles has been diagnosed with or what treatment he is receiving.
Prince Charles met with military veterans in Portsmouth on Wednesday, along with his wife, Camilla, and Prince William.
