Georgian University’s new dean of health, wellness and sciences will lead an academic known for its high-quality health care education, including innovative, immersive interdisciplinary spaces and cutting-edge technology for student learning. Contribute to leading the field.
Dr. Sanja Beca will join the University on March 18th. In her new role, she will provide leadership to a dynamic team of faculty, staff, and students in an exciting and growing portfolio featuring diverse programs in health, wellness, and science.
“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Becca to the Georgian team,” said Academic Vice President Dr. Yael Katz. “Her experience, expertise, passion, and open, collaborative leadership approach will be an asset as we advance our commitment to transformation, innovation, and an unparalleled student experience.”
Dr. Becca comes to Georgia State from Sheridan College, where she served as associate dean for the applied medicine portfolio since 2016. During his tenure, Dr. Sanja successfully led the implementation of many strategic projects focused on academic excellence, innovative program development, and pedagogical innovation. Spatial design including high-fidelity simulation and his AR/VR technology.
She believes in the transformative power of education as a force for change. She finds new ways to bring together faculty, students, and community partners from a variety of disciplines to improve learning, focus on innovative solutions to community health and wellness, health equity, and chronic disease prevention and management. I am passionate about creating collaboration and research opportunities.

Dr. Beca received her medical degree from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, and her PhD in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Calgary. She completed her doctoral training in cardiovascular physiology at the University of Toronto.
