Full-body health scanner selected for UAE trials to aid early diagnosis

A full-body scanner that can help diagnose health problems early is the subject of a new trial, with the technology potentially being introduced into everyday life.

Technology company Bodyo’s health analytics pod has been selected for Dubai Future Foundation’s Future Accelerator Program, an intensive nine-week project that brings together the world’s most exciting engineering companies and leading government agencies.

The company is one of only four companies out of 677 applicants selected by Dubai Health Authority to create solutions to problems facing society.

It is not yet clear whether and how many AiPods will be adopted by the DHA, but it is a technology that the agency is seriously considering to manage the health of its population.

If successful, AiPod health kiosks could become a common sight in shopping malls, gyms, hospitals and clinics around Dubai in the near future.

“We have developed a product that can detect and monitor community and population health data using proprietary algorithms and artificial intelligence,” said Bodyo General Trading founder and sports scientist, UAE said Patrice Coutar, head performance coach for the varsity soccer team.

“This allows us to monitor our happiness, health and fitness and detect serious health conditions early, such as chronic heart disease and early detection of diabetes.”

The pods could reduce the need for people who feel unwell to visit their GP or pharmacy.

When you visit your local shopping center or government building, a seven-minute AiPod scan detects numerous biomarkers that indicate health status and the onset of disease.

The pre-registered patient’s health data is passed to the doctor, who can make further recommendations or arrange a consultation.

“We want to change the way doctors and patients think. This technology is non-invasive, it’s a self-service interaction without it feeling like a medical process, and it allows people to improve their health. We want them to want to come back for more,” said Tariq Hussein, CEO of Bodyo.

“Because it’s new, there’s an initial setup process that can take some time. Then once people get used to the pod, it’s very recognizable and easy to use.”

Investment bank Alpen Capital recently warned of a nursing shortage in the growing healthcare market, and Bodyo’s developers argued that AiPod could help fill that gap.

It would take about five nurses to extract the kind of health data generated from a short Bodyo scan, and one nurse to operate one of the pods.

By providing access to an individual’s biometrics, this technology promises to reduce overall healthcare costs and empower individuals to take responsibility for their health.

Companies can offer employees financial incentives to improve their health and regularly monitor employee health to avoid the spiraling costs of treating long-term chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease in the future. It could also be reduced.

Hussain said, “I envision CEOs asking their employees to encourage their employees to get physicals once a month, so employees can go to their insurance company and check their health.” You can prove your condition and manage your insurance costs accordingly.”

“That model would encourage incentive programs to stay healthy.

“Dubai is a city of firsts, and if we can economically incentivize people to take care of their health, that will have huge implications for how healthcare is managed in the future.”

When renting pods, health authorities can expect to pay between $1,000 and $1,400 (Ah3,650 to Aed 5,100) per pod per month, depending on the rental period.

Data is uploaded to a secure cloud and will not be shared with third parties without your consent.

Bodyo has developed a series of home health monitoring devices that collect health vitals shared through IOS and Android apps or supervisor dashboards to deliver personal health and lifestyle programs.

The latest 360 Wellbeing Survey by Cigna Insurance Middle East found that 50% of respondents are concerned about their ability to meet their own and their family’s future healthcare needs.

“In a faster, more connected world, having access to care tailored to individual needs can make a huge difference in ensuring better health outcomes,” Cigna Middle East CEO Art Cozad said.

“We need to consider the economics of health itself.

“Apps that can provide a wellbeing-focused approach to health management can lead to healthier populations, which means lower healthcare costs in the long run.

“This is directly related to the need to manage risks before health conditions occur, which is made possible by ever-present apps.”

“My blood sugar levels were good, but my blood pressure was a little low.” – Inside the life-saving health scanner

Walking into a Bodyo Health Pod is like picking up a new cell phone. The experience feels awkward yet familiar, and the possibilities are clear.

Plugging your Emirates ID into a machine to register a Bodyo account feels like handing over control of your personal health data, which is unsettling in the current climate where social media giants trade personal information for profit. I feel it.

The developer claims that the data collected is secure and cannot be provided to third parties without consent.

Similar to an old-school photo booth or arcade machine, you enter the pod and enter your login credentials before the health scan begins.

You stand at a central spot that monitors your weight and various other biometric indicators, and moving your hand activates an on-screen cursor to access a menu of options. To speed up the process, motion sensors will soon be replaced with voice activation software.

The pod then displays a mirror image on the screen and instructs the user to sit down and insert their index and index fingers into the pulse monitor. Meanwhile, a second detector is secured to the opposite ankle.

More information will be collected and once completed, your blood pressure will be measured.

The left hanging cuff can be placed in place and inflated around the upper arm to take another measurement.

After a few seconds, Bodyo will ask you to return to a standing position to await your results.

Diagnosis is completed in just a few minutes. A motion sensor detects your hand movements, and you can swipe from right to left in the air to access a page of results.

Data includes blood pressure, blood sugar levels, weight, height, muscle mass, fat mass, bone quality, hydration and water retention, and estimated daily calorie needs.

While individual data can help doctors assess overall health more broadly, health scores combined can help individuals manage their lifestyles to prevent chronic health conditions and improve personal fitness. You can encourage them to achieve their goals.

The National”Multimedia journalist Andy Scott, a diabetic who measures his blood sugar twice a day, was one of the first to step into the pod. Check out his report below.

Is this the future of medicine?

Is this the future of medicine?

“I’ve had diabetes for 13 years, so I know what I need to do to monitor my health,” he said.

“We saw how Bodyo can help people understand their diabetes and how it affects those recently diagnosed, and how monitoring relevant physical indicators can help prevent diabetes. Ta.

“My blood sugar levels were good, but my blood pressure was slightly lower, there was no noticeable change that I would have expected.

“We are very thorough about the numbers and the amount of data generated.

“I didn’t really know what they meant, but I’m sure they’ll be very helpful to doctors.”
