Learn how to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes
February 22, 2024 — Lee Health launches its latest diabetes prevention program to help the community learn about various tools that can help prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes.
The program is designed to help the public learn about modest lifestyle changes that can help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes by more than half. The annual program begins March 4th from 6-7pm at Lee Health Coconut Point, with weekly meetings for the first six months and once or twice a month for the second six months. It is done.

The program is part of the National Diabetes Prevention Program led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is covered by Medicare and most commercial insurance plans.
The information presented at the workshop will help participants become empowered to prevent type 2 diabetes. Participants will learn about the benefits of physical activity, managing symptoms of stress, nutritional guidance, and tips for staying motivated. Participants will also receive a Participant Guide to use as an ongoing reference tool after class.
