Deontay Wilder‘s ex-fiancee has been given a restraining order after making shocking allegations of domestic violence.
TMZ reports: Teri Swift She accused the boxer of abusing her multiple times over a six-year period.
Shocking allegations against Deontay Wilder
Teri applied for a temporary restraining order last week and a judge granted it on Monday, June 3. The ruling came two days after Wilder was knocked out in the ring by Zhang Zilei.
The temporary restraining order states that Deontay cannot come within 100 feet of Teri and her 6-year-old child until June 25, when a judge will decide what to do next.
She made multiple shocking allegations against the boxer, including accusations of physical and mental abuse. Swift claims that Wilder choked her multiple times since 2018. “At least five times.”
She further stated that her ex-partner spat on her multiple times, adding: “I was choked.” as he pressed her face into the pillow.
Teri also claimed Wilder had digitally humiliated her, saying Deontay had accessed her laptop and sent warning messages to people on her personal and professional contacts.
Teri fears Wilder will harm her if she returns from overseas.
Swift and Wilder began dating in 2015. The boxing superstar and Teri got engaged in 2018. Swift explained that Deontay kicked her out of her Atlanta home in April 2024. At the time, she claimed she was in a weakened state due to recent surgery.
Teri and her daughter have reportedly been living together in a California villa since then, but she said Wilder has been keeping an eye on her using a surveillance system, and because Wilder fought Zhang in Saudi Arabia, Swift fears he may become violent upon returning from overseas.
Teri said, “Deontay has expressed anger towards me since April and has been physically abusive towards me in the past, which is why I believe he may be physically violent towards me upon his return in June.”
Deontay Wilder has not responded to the domestic violence allegations.
