Daniel Suarez won Sunday’s second NASCAR Cup race, the second-closest finish in series history. Suarez won the Better Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway with a three-wide finish over Ryan Blaney and Kyle Busch.
This was the second NASCAR Cup Series race of the 2024 season, and Suarez won by 0.003 seconds in the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro. It was the seventh win for Nashville-based Trackhouse Racing.
Ten caution flags were raised in a wide-open race filled with crashes. There was a track record of 48 lead changes.
Blaney at the bottom was second, Busch in the middle was third, Austin Cindric was fourth, and Bubba Wallace was fifth.
Only three of the 37 cars were not involved in at least one accident, with the first crash occurring on the second lap.
At the final restart, Suarez took the lead with five laps remaining. Blaney moved to the front with four laps remaining, and Busch emerged into the lead early on the final lap. Suarez then passed Blaney and Busch at the finish line.
