Evgeni Dadonov will be out indefinitely with the Dallas Stars due to a lower body fracture.
The forward was injured in Saturday’s 3-2 win against the Montreal Canadiens. He played 8:35 and his last shift came at 19:08 of the third period.
โ[Dadonov] “I had an X-ray done in Montreal and nothing showed up,” Stars manager Peter DeBoer said Tuesday. “He came home, but his symptoms weren’t improving so they took more detailed pictures and he ended up missing out for a while here.” There is a fracture. They’re currently making decisions about things like whether they need to put screws in, and that’s not good news. โ
Dadonov has 23 points (12 goals, 11 assists) in 50 games this season, including two goals in a 5-4 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on February 7th. He was acquired in a trade with the Montreal Canadiens on February 26 last season.
Dadonov had 15 points (3 goals, 12 assists) in 23 regular season games and 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists) in 16 Stanley Cup Playoff games after the trade.
With Dadonov sidelined, the Stars will add Ty Dellandrea to the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes (8 p.m. ET, BSSO, BSSW) to join Radek Faksa and Craig Smith on the fourth line. It will be. Sam Steel is expected to replace Dadonov in the third-line position alongside Jamie Benn and Wyatt Johnston.
The Stars (32-14-6) have won five of their past six games and are in first place in the Central Division. They will likely recall the American Hockey League forward from Texas later this week.
