CM Punk’s triceps injury at the Royal Rumble has put his participation in WrestleMania 40 in doubt. Unfortunately, Punk will not be able to compete as he is currently recovering from surgery. Although he had to miss Elimination Chamber because of him, Punk admitted that he had a tough day mentally after missing the event.
A lot happened at the highly anticipated Elimination Chamber premium live event in Perth, Australia. That includes Drew McIntyre winning a men’s Elimination Chamber match, and CM Punk is not happy about that.
CM Punk was originally promoted to perform at WWE Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia, but plans changed due to injury. Second City Saint commented on his Instagram Story about Elimination Chamber’s absence from the event.
CM Punk admitted it was a mentally tough day, adding that it was difficult to stay positive, but told fans to enjoy the show despite his absence.
“Today has been a tough day mentally. My heart and mind are in Perth. It’s been a tough day to stay positive, but I wish I could have been performing in front of my fans more than I did. I don’t think anyone would. Enjoy the show and thank you all.”
CM Punk is expected to be out of action for about 6 to 8 months after the surgery. We’ll have to wait and see how The Second City Saint is booked once he makes his triumphant return to WWE television. Because he’ll likely have the score to settle with Drew McIntyre upon his return.
